How You Can Help

Donate!  There is so much research being done for a treatment for SMA, and all of that research takes mucho dinero.  Lucy's Hope for a Cure is not a registered charity, but there are many of those that can direct your donation to the most effective research for a cure.  Please visit:

The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation

Miracle for Madison and Friends

or

Jadon's Hope Foundation

to make a tax-deductible donation that will help save the lives of thousands of babies, children, and young adults.

You can also donate to foundations that help directly with family's needs, which are immense.  To help with purchases involving adaptation and machinery, visit:

Unite 4 Peyton

or

The Lexx Howell Foundation for SMA

Buy merchandise!  I recently opened a shop on etsy called Couture to Cure SMA.  Right now I am only selling handmade hair clips, but depending on my motivation and available time, that could branch out to any number of artsy-fartsy projects. :)  Currently, all monies raise through this venture are going to Lucy's home addition fund.  After that has been achieved, 50% of the selling price of each item will be donated to cure-based research for SMA through the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation, a non-profit organization set up by Bill and Victoria Strong, in honor of their daughter Gwendolyn, who also has type 1 SMA.

If you want to get more involved, you can host a fundraiser.  Friends of Lucy have organized a pizza sale, raffles, silent auctions, parade floats, booths at a local festival, t-shirt sales, bake sales, brat frys... the possibilities are endless.  If you are interested, please contact Barb at bzahn84@charter.net with your idea or for more information.
