How You Can Help

Donate!  There is so much research being done for a treatment for SMA, and all of that research takes mucho dinero.  Lucy's Hope for a Cure is not a registered charity, but there are many of those that can direct your donation to the most effective research for a cure.  Please visit:

Buy merchandise!  I recently opened a shop on etsy called Couture to Cure SMA.  Right now I am only selling handmade hair clips, but depending on my motivation and available time, that could branch out to any number of artsy-fartsy projects. :)  Currently, all monies raise through this venture are going to Lucy's home addition fund.  After that has been achieved, 50% of the selling price of each item will be donated to cure-based research for SMA through the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation, a non-profit organization set up by Bill and Victoria Strong, in honor of their daughter Gwendolyn, who also has type 1 SMA.

If you want to get more involved, you can host a fundraiser.  Friends of Lucy have organized a pizza sale, raffles, silent auctions, parade floats, booths at a local festival, t-shirt sales, bake sales, brat frys... the possibilities are endless.  If you are interested, please contact Barb at with your idea or for more information.
